About this deal
Unlike the original, Armani Code Parfum is revitalized with a youthful perimeter that will serve you on more occasions while still being elegant enough for a date or formal event. There's something about this fragrance that makes me feel I've smelled it a 100 times before but don't know where. The opening is quite intriguing for the first 2 hours or so but then it dissolves to be this generic shower gel scent.
A 60ml bottle I used for 3 winters being my main winter fragrance, now I got a 110 ml, I'm not sure if could spray it all before I get bored to death with it. The scent is soft and fresh the way freshly cleaned linen is, with a touch of sweetness, a delicate greenness from the sage and bergamot leaf, and a lot of sweet and powdery wood in the dry down. Heard a lot of great things about this one, and I was hoping it would be a nice step up from the Pepsi Cola vibe I got from the original Code, but alas I was disappointed. At times I get whiffs of something reminiscent of a blue fragrance and other times I detect wafts of a distinct iris note à la Dior Homme. That’s really all you need to know, because that’s the best description I think anyone could give you.Armani describes this fragrance as “strong yet sensitive”, and I couldn’t agree with their description more. I like powdery/soapy scents but this scent did not impress me much, maybe the dry down but overall I would give it 6/10. There are many idiots voting on a fragrance they didn't tried yet, but please do not assume there is nobody able to have it before the market's release, don't be stupid, some ppl/country may have the access to the product very soon. I tried it today, in the opening it was like the Armani code absolu ( I got the warm vanilla vibe ) after a while, the aroma has changed to spicy aquatic/ fresh scent until the dry down.
Absolu is not much better to my nose, either, and I hate saying that because I can genuinely appreciate that other people enjoy these, and they’re both lasting and well-made.
Then you get a touch of masculine among the floral sweet fruity denseness that pushes through with a bit of leather and it just intrigues you. It leans a little more "clubby" than the other flankers, but still retains that mature, refined Armani classiness. But the smell is mass appealing and super versatile, ideal for a yearlong dumb grab, or formal wear. I'm increasingly an aging niche FragSnob so this is rather conveyor belt meh to me, but I'll wear it.
